Online Poetry Workshop:
The Dramatic Monologue

What is a dramatic monologue and how does it capture a reader's attention? This online course, taught by award-winning, nationally known poet, Reginald Shepherd, focuses on this powerful and persuasive form, providing the essential techniques for creating voice through persona, object and fictional character and enabling students to write in a newly popular and publishable form. Contemporary practioneers include Louise Gluck, Nick Flynn, Ai, Frank Bidart and Les Murray among others.

Each class limited to six students.
