Polly Brown has been a member of the Boston-area poetry collaborative Every Other Thursday since 1987. The poems in Each Thing Torn From Any of Us have won awards from the Massachusetts Artists Foundation and the Worcester County Poetry Association, and have been published in many journals and anthologies, including Appalachia, The Beloit Poetry Journal, and Room of One's Own. Polly teaches at Touchstone Community School in Grafton, a school with an unusual emphasis on the power of story; and she joins, as often as she can, the Tuesday evening Westborough Rotary vigil against war, holding a sign that says "Bring Them Home."
